While working with customers, we’re constantly learning about their needs and managing inquiries that arise. As a result, we’ve included a list of frequently asked questions along with answers in order to provide additional support. If your question isn’t addressed below, get in touch with us and we’ll provide the information you need.

When you purchase a murder mystery party kit you will receive a zipfile containing a PDF document which will include all the information you need to host the game, an invitation template and a nametag template. Your hosting file will include:

1. Instructions for how to host and run the party.

2. The scenario for the murder that needs to be solved.

3. Printable clues and backstory for each character.

5. Who committed the murder, how and why they did it.

We love writing a good murder mystery however due to family reasons we are taking a break from writing. We will update this page when we are available to write custom murder mysteries again.

Each murder mystery game has a different number of characters, however there is always a minimum number that is required for the mystery to unfold correctly. Our murder mysteries don't go any lower than 10 participants. Please refer to the murder mystery tab for exact numbers that each mystery contains.

Yes these events make great and easy fundraisers. All you will need to do is send your guests their character information and let them know how much it will cost to attend your event. In the past we have charged between $10 and $20 per person. We normally also have some quick games during the evening where partygoers must donate a gold coin to participate in each game. Example of games include: Heads or Tails, Music Trivia, Horse Racing etc. Feel free to contact us if you need more ideas.

In order to ensure that you maximise your fundraising, we suggest using someones house as a hosting location and asking guests to bring a plate of nibbles.

There is no set time to complete the murder mystery although we have found that it will take around two hours.

Ideally you would be able to replace the person who has cancelled with someone else. If it is not possible for you to find a replacement then you will need to read that persons character clue out at some stage during the night.

You don't have to be great at acting to participate in a murder mystery, anyone can do them. We have found that if people embrace their character by dressing up and arriving in character that the night is much more entertaining. We will provide a backstory for your character that you can use on the night to create conversation. 
It is a chance for you to have some fun and can be a nice escape from your everyday life. The more you get into your character the more fun you will have on the night.

Yes you can participate if you are hosting. If you want to participate then make sure you don't read the clues and backstory for each character. You can choose a character and only read about your own. For all other characters, fold them or put them in an envelope and give them to the participants.

The majority of our murder mysteries contain sexual references and are not suitable for children under the age of 18. 
If the murder mystery is family friendly this is specified in the Buy Murder Mysteries tab. The best mystery we offer for families is the Christmas Murder Mystery.

We believe that our murder mysteries are good fun and we have received good feedback from participants about how much they have enjoyed their murder mystery night (check out our testimonials page to see what people have said). We aim to make character story lines entertaining and have tried to use humor with regard to character names.  Ultimately it is up to each group regarding how much fun they will have on the night. It is as fun as you make it.
